We all want and need love. It’s inherent in our very being. To the extent that we’ve experienced it makes it easy to give and accept. For those of us who grew up in loving environments, the ability to love is second nature and we’re able to attract, give, and receive love. Many of us however grew up in families where love wasn’t shown, so we not only didn’t get the nurturing that should have been our natural birthright, but we never got the modeling for how to love. We then had to find ways to learn this later in life, which for some of us has been the dominant learning journey of our lifetime.
I’ve heard it said that in this life we have the chance for one great love, a love that is unconditional, that captures our imagination, and that thrills us to our very depths. Whether…

Lifeworks is the new book from Jane Bailey Bain. Here we are pleased to we have an excerpt about Archetypes, if you would like to win a copy of this book please leave a comment below...
Archetypes...
We tell stories to make sense of our world. We populate those stories with colourful characters. In describing these characters we often draw on a cast of stereotypical figures. Stereotypes provide a convenient narrative shorthand. We do not have to ascribe motives nor analyze actions: the people in our story are simply behaving ‘in character’. These figures are familiar and reassuringly predictable. When someone claims to be a hero, we want him to act heroically. When someone looks like a tramp, we expect him to behave accordingly. Our images are based both…

It's the penultimate day of my inspirational blogging challenge, and looking back over the past few weeks it's been a real mixed bag. There has been death, life, cats, passion. All in one little month. I guess that this is the essence of soul-cafe though, to embrace the spiritual through everything and anything. I guess this is the essence of life too. Ups, downs, swings, roundabouts...
Today I'm feeling nice and calm, but nothing occurs to me to be inspired by. What a pain... right! Again this is life is it not? We can intend to be inspired for a whole month, but some days all we get chucked is a serious rabbit fight, and feeling nauseous all afternoon due to a too big lunch. Yup that has been the high point of my day. Playing referee to two sparring bunny rabbits and then recovering from a…

Do you feel your carrying the world on your shoulders ? perhaps things seem to feel a little harder, or situations seems to be a struggle for us to manage , perhaps feeling if changes are needed or taking on more than we can chew?. Things can then feel overwhelming , we can also loose sense of our threshold, our boundaries with our self and others, allowing things to be placed in your lap when you have already got enough on your plate.Posted on January 26, 2012 at 4:00pm 6 Comments 7 Likes
This article may be totally 'out-there' to some of our more spiritual newbies, but fascinating all the same. It may also be of use to those who feel that they have left their body, or perhaps dreamt they have. And if we can leave our bodies, then there must be more than just 'physical' existence - right! I hope you really enjoy this fascinating piece and if any of you do try it out please come back and share your experiences.

This is the second book of author Theolyn Cortens that I have read. As in Working with Archangels, this book is also set out in a logical and structured order. The introduction explains how the author first met the Nephalim. There are 12 Nephalim and they represent the qualities and virtues we need to develop in preparation for the new age – new age as in the Mayan calendar.
The Mayan calendar is explained as is also the major changes the earth…

Most of us have a love/hate relationship with goals, especially those requisite, all important New Year’s resolutions. We do love the “idea” of a new year, a new start, and an opportunity to have a re-do on what we failed to do or complete this past year. But how often do we take the time to analyze why we weren’t able accomplish our goals for this year before moving into the next. Unless we know what interfered, most likely it will occur…

by Sou-Cafe and Elysian Astrology Expert Nikki Harper
The end of 2011 heralds a turning point in your personal relationships. Don’t stand for less than the best – you deserve to be treated as someone special, so don’t hesitate to wave goodbye to a friend or distant relative who’s behaving badly. Expect to enjoy a broadening of your whole social network this Christmas, but don’t let new friends blind you to simple economic facts….if you spend more than you have, you’ll end up in debt and regretting it! You can’t buy either love or friendship – and anyway, you don’t want for either.
